I was tasked with designing a new hand-held electric mixer using the existing mechanical and electrical components sourced from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).  The hand-held mixer market is saturated with many similar products all trying to capture the attention of consumers.  You are challenged to design a new hand-held mixer that differentiates itself from its competitors in an attempt gain a larger market share.  The strategy you must use is mass customisation providing customers with opportunities to customise their hand-held mixer to fit the aesthetic theme of their own kitchen.  In addition to the strategy of mass customisation your design solution will offer more environment friendly polymer options that can bio-degrade after the product’s useful lifespan ends.
